Expanding Dhali’s Web3 Ecosystem: Integrating GemWallet

We are thrilled to announce the integration of GemWallet into the Dhali ecosystem! Following our recent Crossmark integration, this collaboration brings even more flexibility to our users, ensuring they can securely interact with Dhali using their preferred crypto wallet.

In this post, we’ll highlight the key features of GemWallet’s integration, share some insights into the technical challenges we overcame, and how this strengthens our commitment to next-generation API payments.

Addressing a Key Challenge in Wallet Integration

Integrating GemWallet posed an interesting challenge that revolved around message signing. GemWallet’s signMessage function initially handled strings as plain text, using UTF-8 encoding. However, Dhali required support for hex-encoded strings—particularly those not originating from plain text. This was because, like our work with Crossmark, we needed to payment channel authorization blobs to be signed by GemWallet. This mismatch temporarily delayed our integration, but the GemWallet team worked quickly to resolve the issue.

As of GemWallet version 3.8.0, users can now sign hex-encoded messages too, fully aligning with Dhali’s requirements. This collaboration between our teams ensured a smooth integration and further enhances the flexibility of wallet interactions on our platform.

Extending Dhali’s Functionality to GemWallet Users

With GemWallet, users can now tap into the full range of Dhali's API monetization features. Through app.dhali.io, GemWallet users can manage API ownership and generate API keys just like our Xaman and Crossmark users. Secure API payments can be made through our payment terminal, ensuring the same smooth experience across wallet options.

Conclusion

The GemWallet integration marks another important milestone in Dhali’s journey to build a comprehensive, user-friendly Web3 ecosystem for API payments. Our successful collaboration with the GemWallet team demonstrates the strength of Web3’s open, interconnected nature, and we’re excited to keep pushing the boundaries of API monetization.

Stay tuned as we continue expanding Dhali’s capabilities and offering even more wallet integrations and innovative features for our growing community.
